Come out and support our local community. The race benefits extracurricular activities in Lehigh Acres Public Schools.
Rotary's Continuing Tradition
The Lehigh Acres Rotary is challenging members of the local community to test their fitness, to give back to the community and to have a little fun in the sun as participants in the South Star Development Partners, The Fountains and Lehigh Acres Rotary Club 32nd annual 4-mile Road Race this Saturday.
Rotary is an international organization which is dedicated to building goodwill and peace in the world through local and international community initiatives. Through the years, the Lehigh Acres Rotary Club has been working to better our local community through various projects, and for the last seven years their passion has been the fuel for the 4-mile Road Race.
Though the 4-mile Road Race has changed sponsors through the years, it has remained dedicated to bringing the community together and benefiting local youth programs. In the past, the proceeds have gone towards Pop Warner Football, Swim Florida, Cross Country at Lehigh Senior High, the ROTC at East County High School and various other programs.
The Road Race has become a staple in the history of both the Lehigh Acres Spring Festival and in the lives of the community members," says Rotarian, Dave Lindsay. "With this year's proceeds going to benefit extra-curricular activities of Lehigh Acres public schools, the race provides a wonderful opportunity for the community to get involved in the future of its children and to have a little fun in the process.
The Rotary 4-mile Road Race is the oldest annual race in Lee County and has grown in popularity through the years. Event organizer, Earl Hart, has received a growing number of participant inquires from race enthusiasts throughout the country about this community race.
From nine to ninety and a few on either end of the age bracket, all community members in good health are encouraged to register for the 32nd annual 4-mile Road Race. Participants are divided into categories by age and gender with trophies awarded to the top finishers in each group.
Though the Fort Myers Track Club will be providing the finish line and post race results, the Road Race is not complete until every participant has had the joy of crossing the finish line.
Registration for the event will start at Lehigh Towne Center at the intersection of Homestead Road and Leeland Heights at 7:00am Saturday
The race will begin at 8:00 a.m.
The registration cost is $20 for adults and $15 for students.
See y'all soon!
Sincerely,
Lehigh Acres Rotary Club
